Weekly AI Roundup: ChatGPT
Study Together: ChatGPT’s New Learning Mode
OpenAI is quietly testing a new feature called Study Together, designed to turn ChatGPT into an interactive study partner. It asks questions, tracks your progress, and creates personalised lesson plans based on your learning style. The goal is to make AI a more effective tool for self-paced education, and the feature is already being trialled by a small group of users.
A ChatGPT Powered Browser Is on the Way
OpenAI is working on its own web browser with ChatGPT and task automation built in. It’s built on Chromium, the open-source engine used by major browsers like Chrome, Edge, and Opera. The new browser will include an “Operator” AI agent that can handle online tasks, like booking appointments or filling in forms, on your behalf. It could reshape how we search, browse, and get things done online.
Roadmap Shift: Reasoning Models in Focus
OpenAI is continuing to restructure its model roadmap, with a clear pivot toward the o‑series models like GPT‑4.1 (o3) known for better reasoning. This shift moves away from incremental upgrades like GPT‑4.5 and doubles down on models designed to plan, solve, and interact more like humans.
ChatGPT Is Changing How We Speak
A new study published in Scientific American finds that people are subtly changing how they talk after using ChatGPT. The AI’s polished phrasing and vocabulary appear to influence users’ everyday language suggesting AI isn’t just responding to us, but reshaping us in return.
How ChatGPT Connectors Bring Your Work Tools into One Chat (Watch Demo)
ChatGPT is becoming the front door to your entire workday. With Connectors, you can link ChatGPT directly to tools you already use like Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar, GitHub, SharePoint, and more. This means you can instantly access, summarise, and interact with your files, meetings, messages, and even code all within one chat window.
For busy teams across legal, marketing, data, finance or product, this unlocks a powerful new way to get things done faster, with fewer clicks.
What Are Connectors in ChatGPT?
Connectors let ChatGPT securely read and work with information from your everyday tools without switching tabs. ChatGPT respects your existing permissions, so it only accesses content you can see. And it cites its answers so you can check the source.
Let’s say you connect your Google Drive or Gmail account. You can now ask:
“Summarise the FY25 pricing strategy deck”“What did the client say in their last email?”“What’s on my calendar next Tuesday?”
Instead of searching, scrolling, and copying you just ask and get a useful answer in seconds.
Examples: What You Can Do with ChatGPT Connectors
You can also mix sources in one prompt:
“Summarise our 2024 OKRs from Drive and list any calendar events tagged ‘Q1 planning’.”
Note: Features and access to connectors vary depending on your ChatGPT plan (Plus, Pro, or Enterprise).
How to Get Started with Connectors
Getting started is simple, no setup or coding required.
Go to Settings ▶ Connectors in ChatGPT
Connect the tools you use (Google, Microsoft, GitHub, etc.)
Grant access via secure login (only data you can access will be visible)
Ask your question in plain English, and ChatGPT will handle the rest
